[Summit] Coyote warning

All,
On Saturday, I was doing a bit of spring clean up in my backyard when
out of the corner of my eye I saw a coyote run right by me. He was
about 10 to 15 feet away as he silently trotted past me, up the
driveway, and out to the street. I've seen coyotes on the East Side
while driving at night, but never have I been so close to one in broad
daylight.
My yard is fenced on all sides; the only way in/out is up the driveway.
I do not know what would have happened if I had raked in such a way as
to corner him. He must have been sleeping under my shed and my raking
near the shed probably caused him to run. I'll keep an eye out to see
if he returns.
I would recommend folks to make a little extra noise when working in
their yards; it sounds like coyotes are nervous animals and will avoid
contact whenever possible.
