I in no way meant to suggest that YOU were overreacting.
Of course, someone peering into your car on your 
property is cause for concern.

I was just mentioning that it is possible to become a bit
too nervous about these things - it is not uncommon in
some cities for people to be very anxious whenever they
are sharing the street with an African-American male.

I hear you Liberty.  However, he was on our property, doing something with our car.  (Peering in?  Testing the door?)  In view of all the car riflings we've been having in our neighborhood, I don't think I'm overreacting.)

A corrrection -- the guy I saw snooping around my car on Lauriston was a lot shorter than 5'10" or 6'.  My guess is 5' 6" at the most.

A policeman came and is looking for him.

The individual who is suspected of breaking into houses in the Summit Neighborhood was seen snooping around a car at 1:30pm today (Saturday, August 14th). A neighbor came out, and watched him. When he noticed her, he fled into another neighbors backyard. I checked the area about five minutes later, but he was gone. He does fit the description of the person mentioned previously, about 5'10 to 6 feet tall, thin, and sporting an unkept afro. Most likely in his late teens or early twenties. Apparently he's not nervous about committing crimes in broad daylight. Please keep an eye out and alert the police if you see him.
