It was definitely not a possum, and it was most certainly a rat. I have seen possums in our neighborhood as well, but I do know the difference between a rat and a possum. 

I am absolutely positive it was a rat. A very large rat.

Yesterday I saw a gigantic rat run across 10th St., right near the Hope St. intersection. It was 5 o'clock in the afternoon - broad daylight.

Has anyone else seen any rats in the neighborhood lately? Yes, I know we live in a city but I have lived in this neighborhood for?8?years and I have never seen a rat here...until yesterday.
