I agree with Athur Plitt's (aka king Arthur) recommendation that door to door sellers be registered by the city so at least some baseline due diligence can take place---lobby your city rep. P.S. I sold books door to door in a variety of neighborhoods in Alabama as a college student---great but difficult experience.

I was approached by one this evening as I was walking on 11th street. luckily i had seen the e-mails about this (not that I would
have bought magazines from her anyway). She told me she was trying to better herself. I just politely told her "no thank you".
She wished me a nice day and went off. I haven't had anyone ring my doorbell yet but i tend not to open my door to anyone I
am not expecting or don;t know.
