[Summit] posting notices- a real need

I am in no way against posting notices and announcements - I am one of the very active residents of this neighborhood who has posted signs and announcements about SNA and other events in store fronts, bulletin boards and around Summit. My issue is putting staples into live trees and littering natural sections (Parks! Trees!) of our neighborhood with ads and other postings.
There is a difference.

I agree with these comments - Mrs. B has her priorities straight!

>I understand the problems of stapling trees and lamp posts, messy fliers, etc.but the desire to communicate remains.NOT everyone is on the internet.  Even those who are get a LOT of stuff.Less stores are allowing posters in their windows. The library only allows free, non profit type info to be posted. This is particularly relevant to us, since my husband's concerts are heavily attended by older people, a demographic less likely to be on line.Supporting local businesses and events  does require connecting - knowing about them. What happened to the couple community bulletin boards that used to be at bus stops?  Were they deemed too messy?  Living breathing neighborhoods are not spotless.  Can we bring them back?Mrs B-- FISHEL BRESLER'S KLEZMER & HASSIDIC MUSIC -funded in part by a Folk Arts Fellowship grant from the RI State Council on the Arts.If you don't already receive emailings for upcoming events& would like to, just let us know & we'll add you
