PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The police are searching for two gunmen who tied up and
robbed a businessman of his bank deposits inside his home in the Hope
neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
Detective Lt. Robert Lepre said investigators believe that Kevin Ledo, 33,
was the intended target of the robbery.
Ledo told police that sometime after 6 p.m., two men in ski masks and black
hooded sweatshirts got into his house on 11th Street and forced him to the
floor at gunpoint.
The robbers tied Ledo with electrical cord and stole a bank deposit bag
containing cash from his business, several credit cards, and watches, Lepre
said.
Around the same time, police were called about two men in black looking
into yards on 10th Street. Police didn't find anyone.
