Hi,

So I feel very depressed about the future of the city right now. If you have been following the news, the projected deficit this year is about $25 million, give or take. Many budgeted savings have not materialized, and the city could run out of money by June. I love living in Providence. I want to raise my family here. There is so much potential. However, it seems like, recently, each day bring more bad economic news. I feel like there are people on this board with great ideas about possible solutions. My question is, what can we do to help? What would you advise our city/state officials to do? Is there hope, or is the city beyond saving? I hope this thread can be a productive outlet for those who are passionate about our city but with similar feelings about its outlook.

Right now, I don't have any thoughts or ideas (it's a heavy topic, I know). I'm sure if we all contribute, it will spark further thought.

Thanks,

Aaron Masri
