Sprint is the power behind Ting, Virgin Mobile, and Boost - any problems
you experience in coverage with one will be the same with the others. You
can explore Sprint's coverage map at
http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?INTNAV=ATG:HE:Cov , but from personal
experience, Summit is very much not in the "good" range, no matter what the
map says!
The only "budget" alternative that doesn't use Sprint seems to be MetroPCS,
but it looks like their coverage drops off dramatically outside of 295.

Although the main Jitterbug page doesn't explicitly say what network it's
on, it appears from the Wikipedia page (so take with a grain of salt) and
other tech review sites that it's using the Verizon network.
