[Summit] Tot Lot

Every now and then there are painfully trivial matters that must be commented on. Here is mine. We have lived on 9th street for a little over 11 years and like most families with small children the park situated on the corner of 9th and Summit is a very special place. For our boys and their neighborhood buddies this park was always referred to as the "Red Park" (in reference to the color of the slide). When play dates were being set up, parents would arrange to meet at the "Red Park" and everyone knew what that meant. Then approximately 4 to 5 years ago, right around the same time people thought it was a good idea to start dropping off junky toys, some mysterious person took it upon his or herself to officially name our precious park the "Tot Lot" and audaciously painted this hideous moniker over the sign that had previously paid thanks to Former Mayor Buddy Cianci. I'm not sure what plans are in store for our neighborhood gem but I hope it begins with removing the crappy toys, enforcing the no dogs policy and most importantly taking down that awful sign. We want our "Red Park Back!" Thanks!
