I have found that I really have to do the research on the drugs myself. The Dr or NP rarely asks enough questions to establish which drug is best suited for you depending on your past reactions or knowledge of your own body. There often are alternatives and I am learning to ask about them so that I can weigh out the pros and cons for myself.
Ladies - be aware that one of the causes for yeast infections are antibiotics. How easy would it be for the Dr. / manufacturer to suggest to be sure to eat yogurt or provide a acidophilus supplement to advoid this?
Drugs are life saving, but we just need to be our own advocates - the internet truly is wonderful in enabling this.

But also remember that for many people it really works. Alll prescription drugs should be taken under the care of a doctor, and only some people have the side effects. For me taking it cleared up my bacterial infestation and I felt fine while taking it. So yes, be careful, but do not throw the baby out with the bathwater. greg

If your doctor prescribes zithromax, azithromycin, ZPac for you- please double check it is necessary & safe
It can disrupt your heart rhthyms, which is uncomfortable, can be very disabling and occasionally fatal.
The warning came out last spring but was not well publicized
(what pharmaceutical company wants to damage the reputation of one of their most popular drugs?)
And I ended up taking a drug I never should have.
Which also has a long half life- meaning 3 weeks after stopping it is still in my system.
I can not exert myself in any way, and if I do, it takes hours to recover, like I ran a marathon.
I am just posting this to possibly save someone else.
