[Summit] crosswalk danger, Blackstone Blvd.

Like I had questioned about the bump-outs------how and  why did such 
things, as you described come into play.......Perhaps-more  efficient traffic 
control by some means is probably needed....as well as  enforced......An 
accident of sorts---could very well happen,  unfortunately.....Howie

I sat outside at Three Sisters last Wednesday around 6 pm, as the  farmer's 
market was winding up. I'm sorry to report that I saw several  
near-tragedies at the crosswalk at the very start of Blackstone Blvd, just  past the 
triangle at Hope and Chace. Drivers traveling south on Hope St  typically speed 
up when bearing left onto the Blvd, to avoid oncoming traffic.  They're 
going pretty fast when they arrive--almost immediately--at the first  
crosswalk, which they don't notice ahead of time. It seems certain that  someone is 
going to get mowed down there at some point.
