1) If they put meters in front of residences on Hope:
aside from the resident having the cost of having to buy a parking permit,
for moving cars out of driveways during the day,
that solves little--
for all the friends, relatives, repairmen, visiting nurses, house cleaners,
gardeners, who will either a) have to pay or b) shlep from somewhere else
down side streets or c) clog driveway (which remember belongs to more than
one family)
2) If the meters go just until the block residences begin, we will get all
the meter-avoiders. We already are getting a lot of cars from just
overflow.
I know we don't own the street, but we would like at least one space within
a house of two, out front, which is already not always the case.
Since we happen to be on the corner, for us the side street is an option,
but it is often already pretty full of cars from drive ways shuffles and a
few people who park there in the AM, get coffee from Seven Stars and then
take the bus down town.
