You got me.  I am not an investigative journalist. But I did not need to be one to observe:

Mitchell was openly supported by a familiar cast of “reformers,” with an agenda of teacher bashing, corporate charters, Teach for America.

The campaign's professionaism, quality and quantity of mailings and phone calls was ample evidence of the kind of money that does not come from bake sales.
