Parking ban starts at 12:01am on Monday, Feb 13, and continues until 6am. Providence Public Schools open tomorrow/Monday, Feb 13.

Citywide Parking Ban to Take Effect 12:01AM until 6:00AM (2/13)
PROVIDENCE, RI – Due to winter storm conditions, a citywide parking ban will go into effect at 12:01AM (2/13) and continue until 6:00AM in the morning. Providence Public Schools will be open tomorrow.
Garbage and recycling pickup are cancelled for 2/13, all pickups will operate with a one day delay for the rest of the week.
Residents with overnight parking passes are advised that they cannot park on the street during the duration of the citywide parking ban. All vehicles parked on the street in violation of the citywide parking ban will be ticketed and towed to ensure that roadways can be plowed properly.
To report a non-emergency issue, download the PVD311 application on the Apple Store or Google Play or call 3-1-1 during business hours which will be extended tomorrow, opening at 7:30AM.

Residents experiencing power outages should contact National Grid at 800-322-3223. Individuals are warned never to touch downed power lines and report downed lines to National Grid. In the event of an emergency, dial 911.

(2) RIPTA ANNOUNCES DETOURS AS SUNDAY WINTER STORM CONTINUES
Six Routes Detoured
As another winter storm hits the region, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) announced that it has detours on six routes. Safety is the transit authority’s top priority and slippery road conditions can make it difficult for our buses to travel safely. As a result, Routes 6, 21, 27, 50, 55 and 87 on detour until further notice; those routes are listed below. RIPTA will continue to restore service on those routes as conditions allow. Passengers are encouraged to follow us on Facebook or check www.RIPTA.com for updates.
Riders may expect some delays on all routes due to weather conditions and are advised to use extreme caution at bus stops due to decreased visibility and slippery conditions. The safety of our employees and passengers is RIPTA’s top priority. RIPTA apologizes for the inconvenience and asks for the public’s understanding as we work hard to maintain service during this winter weather.
The following routes are on detour until further notice:
Route 6 (Prairie Ave.):
Service to the CCRI campus is suspended.
Route 21 (Reservoir/Garden City):
Service to Garden City shopping center is suspended.
Route 27 (Broadway/Manton):
Service to Hillcrest Apartments is suspended.
Route 50 (Douglas Ave./Bryant):
Service to Shaw’s is suspended.
Route 55 (Admiral/Providence College):
Service to Providence College is suspended.
Route 87 (Fairmount/Walnut Hill):
Service to Morin Heights has been suspended.

Boston’s public schools will be closed Monday due to the snowstorm predicted to drop about a foot of snow on the region, Mayor Martin J. Walsh announced at a press conference Sunday afternoon.
