I'm also a big fan of the beautiful historic fountain and the effort of neighbors that got it working again after so many years of not working.  Those of you interested in a Lippitt Park Conservancy might want to reach out to the Blackstone Parks Conservancy.
And, splashing in water is irresistible to kids (and grownups too).  A waterpark would be a better solution.  I hunger for the Crown Fountain in Chicago's Millenniul Park https://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/dca/supp_info/chicago_s_publicartcrownfountaininmillenniumpark.html ...
