[Summit] Supporting Habitat for Humanity of Rhode Island

Hello Summit business owners!

Please see the below letter from my good friend and Summit resident, John
Chmil.  John is the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Rhode
Island.  HFH is seeking support from local businesses to help with the good
work that they do.


Dear Business Owner,

I am writing to you on behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Rhode Island -
Greater Providence. On March 31st, 2018, Providence’s historic Columbus
Theater will be hosting a fundraising concert in celebration of HFH of
RI-GP’s 31st year. We are seeking national and local musical talent to
perform. The concert will be the culmination of 31 days of local support
from area businesses. It is our hope to partner with local businesses that
will-choose a day(s) in March that will donate a percentage of sales to HFH
of RI-GP.

We will promote your support through social media and to our network of
Habitat friends.

Over the past 30 years, Greater Providence’s HFH has built and rehabbed
over 100 homes for low-income families and we are eager to continue this
good work. The Habitat Homes are primarily funded through private donations
and some grant assistance. The homes are constructed through the hands of
volunteers and the families who will live there, but we pay for all of the
building materials and trade specific contract work. Upon completion, the
home is sold to the family with a 30 year 0% mortgage. Our volunteers,
complimented by our donors are our greatest asset. By participa-ting in our
celebration you will be supporting the hard work accomplished over the past
30 years and enable our Habitat affiliate to continue to provide quality
housing for low-income families.

It is our hope that we can gain your support with other local businesses in
our community to help celebrate our 31st year in the Providence area. We
greatly appreciate your consideration.
