| May Riverwalk Restoration Project
Over the past two years, DNA volunteers, along with the Providence Parks Department, helped to transform over a mile of our Riverwalk (from the Hurricane Barrier to the gondola docks in Waterplace Park) by replacing broken/missing cables, and sanding/painting over 400 railing pillars, light poles, and benches. The transformation has been incredible and to date, we have saved the City of Providence an estimated $200,000 in labor costs!
Our second Riverwalk project of 2018 is this coming Tuesday, May 29th from 5:30–8:00 PM. We will pick up where we left off last October and meet at the Gondola Docks (1 Citizens Plaza) to remove stickers, and touch-up paint on railings, benches, and lamp posts. Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
