Dear Neighbor-
Stay Home, Stay Informed
Thank you again for your diligence in following the City’s and State’s virus containment guidelines. Your daily sacrifices are pivotal to maintaining the health and safety of our community.
Today I signed a supplemental Executive Order that extends social distancing guidelines, restrictions and closures through April 17th. In addition, effective immediately, the Order includes a provision that requires anyone who has traveled to New York (City or State) in the past seven days or visits and returns to Providence, and through the Governor’s Order, to Rhode Island, must quarantine for 14 days. The Governor also ordered that all passengers arriving to T.F. Green Airport from all destinations quarantine for 14 days.
The continuing guidelines and restrictions include:
- No gatherings of 10 people or more
- No on-premises food or drink consumption in restaurants, bars, cafes; establishments with food licenses may continue to offer drive-thru, delivery, and takeout options
- The Providence Place Mall will remain closed
- Closure of all non-essential businesses including all personal care businesses (salons, barbershops, massage parlors, tanning salons, aestheticians, tattoo parlors, gyms, fitness centers, yoga studios, etc.)
We urge community members to stay home as much as possible. As we all adapt to new routines and ways of going about our days, please remember to check-in with your neighbors from afar and to show care for one another. We demonstrate our strength as a community when we are patient, compassionate, and kind to all.
