The plan is for RIPTA to re-route the R-Line in order to serve the south entrance of the train station. The bus would travel down N Main Street to Canal Street, then turn right on to Park Row West, do up the hill past Capital Cove Apartments and drop off passengers at the station.

It allows my family of four to be able to live with just one car. I saw in the Summit Newsletter that one of the concerns in the neighborhood was lack of bus service. While our neighborhood is lucky to be served by 2 major bus routes (42 on Hope Street and 99 on N Main St), the service level drops off after 6:00 PM on weekdays as well as weekends.

Evenings on weekdays and Saturdays, the 42 has one bus every 42 minutes. That will be increased to one bus every 1/2 hour. On Sundays, the 42 has one bus every 52 minutes. That will be increased to one bus every 45 minutes.

Saturdays, there are currently 3 buses a hour from morning through 8 PM and a bus every 40 minutes from then until 11:30. That will be increased to 4 per hour from morning to evening and 3 per hour evenings. Sundays, there are 3 buses per hour from morning through 8 PM and 2 buses per hour from then until 11 PM. That will be increased to 4 per hour from morning to evening and 3 per hour evenings.

Hopefully, this service increase will lead to more increases which will allow people to have choices as they travel to and from our neighborhood. It's also important that the General Assembly act to secure more funding for RIPTA, which is even more important with regards to increasing service. Anyway, thought you all might be interested.
